Monday (May 5) afternoon, in a project initiated by the town's Historic District Commission, five students from the Lymes' Youth Services Bureau's (LYSB) "Kids Care Club" painted the metal railing on Lyme Street in front of the Old Lyme-Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library.

The silver railing was rusting and in poor condition and now, thanks to the efforts of these young, hard-working students, is now repainted in shiny black.

Lymes' Youth Service Bureau arranged to make the painting a community project after being informed of the problem by the Old Lyme Historic District Commission.

LYSB’s Kids Care Club is open to any elementary student and meets monthly to work on community service projects.
