Mary C. Samolis, of the Laurels, Enfield, Conn., daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Smith of Wauwa-tosa, Wis., died Dec. 13, 2009, at home after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was predeceased by her sister, Carol Ann, brother, Robert and brother, Raymond.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Richard, son Mark and wife, Jean of Kentfield, Calif., daughter, Susan and husband, Mark Vinchesi of Old Lyme, Conn., daughter Ann and husband, Bill Weisse of East Longmeadow, Mass., and daughter, Clare of Suffield, Conn. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sean and Ryan Samolis, Conor, Drew and Courtney Vinchesi, and Kristin and Amy Weisse.
Mary was educated at Holy Angels Academy and Wisconsin State College. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church, East Longmeadow, Mass., and active in the Catholic Women's Club of Springfield, Mass., and Friends of St. Francis.
Mary was a volunteer over the years at the Holy Cross School Library, Loaves and Fishes, and St. Michael's parish office. She loved being with her family and friends, enjoyed playing tennis and contract and duplicate bridge.
Family and friends gathered for a Mass on Saturday, Dec. 19, at St. Michael's Church, East Longmeadow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
