Many talented artists are joining forces to support The Paul & Lisa Program by designing an Xtreme Tree for a special event being held tonight.
Xtreme Trees, which is patterned after the highly successful Festival of the Trees, a South Florida tradition which has marked the start of the holiday season for over 20 years, will showcase the unique creativity of the community by engaging local artists and businesses in the design of holiday trees made from every imaginable material.
Artists who have agreed to design a tree include Brian Proctor of Proctor Woodworks; Sculptor, Peter Kirkiles, who is representing the Weekend Kitchen; Rick Silberberg of the Essex Art Association; Diane Miezejewski of the Ivoryton Playhouse, Linda Drohan of Beach Baubles/Central Gallery to name a few.
All of these fantastic trees will be auctioned at a gala reception at the the Left Bank Gallery in Essex tonight, Saturday, Nov. 28, where guests will enjoy wine, live music and hors d’oeuvres by the Lace Factory Catering while bidding to own one of these fabulous trees. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet Lisa Carberg, Anchor for NBC Connecticut and Xtreme Trees honorary chairperson.
TA few tickets for tonight's gala are still available and can be purchased in Old Saybrook at Design Essence and Gallery One/Clayhouse, and in Essex at The Left Bank Gallery, Elite , The Weekend Kitchen and Weltner Antiques, or by calling Paul & Lisa Program Inc. at (860)767-7660.
