William T. Flynn 11/08/09

William T. Flynn, 91, of South Dennis, formerly of North Easton, died peacefully Nov. 8, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the devoted husband of the late Isabelle Jean (Diamond); father of daughters, Jean Flynn Gregory and her husband Dr. John M. Gregory of Ardsley, N.Y., Mary Elizabeth Flynn of Rome, Judith Helena Flynn of Quincy and Nancy Flynn Connell and her husband Thomas R. Connell of Old Lyme, Conn.; grandfather of Laura Gregory Clifford and husband Matthew, Caitlin Flynn Connell and John William Flynn Connell; son of the late William and Mary Flynn of Bridgewater; beloved brother of Margaret Gorman, John and Eugene Flynn; predeceased by siblings, Eleanor Costa, Catherine Bois and James Flynn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His studies at Suffolk University Law School and duties as selectman in Bridgewater were interrupted by serving in the U.S. Army Air Force.  He completed Officer Candidate School and rose to the level of Captain, 2011 Ordnance Maintenance Co. AF.  He served every day of World War II from 1941-1946 in Algeria, Tunisia, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, the Rhineland, Northern Apennines and the Po Valley.  He was a past commander of VFW Post 254 in Easton and trustee VFW Post 2578, Hyannis, and a member of American Legion Post No. 197, Yarmouth, Knights of Columbus, Easton, Council No. 238, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Historical Society of South Dennis.
 A funeral will be held  from Doane, Beal & Ames, 729 Rte. 134, South Dennis, Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Road, Brewster, at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 12, from 3 -7 p.m.  Interment will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Friday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m.
