Anthony Autorino, 97, of Rocky Hill, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Hartford Hospital, Hartford.
Born in Montclair, N.J., he lived in Greater Hartford for most of his life where he met and married his wife Lillian Maselli. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool Co., West Hartford for more than 35 years. He later enjoyed working along side his grandson, Anthony D. Autorino, Jr. at Double A Transportation in Rocky Hill. He was also involved as a coach in the George D. Ritchie Soccer League for over 20 years.
One of his greatest joys was his summer home in Old Lyme where he, Liilian and his family spent over 70 summers. He was active in the Sound View Beach Assciation.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony D. and Betty Autorino of Farmington, his daughter-in-law, Kathie Ann Autorino of Suffield, six grandchildren; Anthony D. Autorino, Jr., Dr. Andrea Autorino-Pagni and her husband Dan, Lynn and Paul Barry, Fred Autorino and his wife Renee, Mark M. Autorino and Courtney Autorino, eight great grandchildren and three brothers, Michael, John and Joseph Stanisci all in New Jersey. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Lillian (Maselli) Autorino, his son, Mark Autorino and two brothers, Leonard and Julius and two sisters, Grace and Anne.
Anthony's family would like to express sincere gratitude to his wonderful neighbors, John and Cindy Ketz who helped him and loved him daily. Also, his four caregivers Eve, Barbara, Theresa and Elizabeth who worked tirelessly to see to his comfort and well being.
The funeral was Wednesday, Oct. 21 from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
