Mary Massa, 86, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, N.J., died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at her daughter's residence in Whiting.  She was born in Elizabeth and lived in Belleville before moving to Oakhurst in 1971.  Mrs. Massa was a sales associate for JC Penney in Eatontown for 25 years before retiring in 2008.  She was a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis on Sept. 27, 1994, her brothers, Al Szem and Theodore and Edward Szemplenski and her son-in-law, Reinhold Henninger in 2005.  Surviving are her daughters, Helene Intintola and her husband Vincent of Toms River and JoAnn Henninger of Whiting; her son, Mark and his wife Leslie Massa of Old Lyme, Conn.; six grandchildren, David and Barry Intintola, Erica Henninger and Kate Hoppe and Barbara and Michael Massa; two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Thomas. 

Funeral Mass was offered Wednesday, Sept. 30,  at St. Jerome's Church, West Long Branch.  Entombment will followed at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards are preferred.  Give your friend a hug!
