Paul Alexander Geiger 08/29/09

Paul Alexander Geiger of North Charleston, S.C., widower of Audrey B. Geiger, died Aug. 29, 2009, in a local hospital.

The relatives and friends of Paul A. Geiger are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at 11 a.m., in J. Henry Stuhr, INC., North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston.  Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friend's Tuesday, September 1, 2009, in Stuhr's North Area Chapel between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Geiger was born on June 9, 1923, in Estill, S.C., and was the son of Aubra H. Geiger and Grace Estella Moore Geiger.  He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, after 33 years, as a progressman; he was a US Navy veteran and was a member of VFW Post 3142 for over 60 years and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.

He is survived by three daughters, Nelda G. Daniels (Tommy) of Ridgeville, S.C., Alexis G. Smith (L. Michael) of Moncks Corner, S.C., Midge G. Walters (Bruce) of Eutawville, S.C.; two brothers, Robert Geiger of Palm Beach Garden, Fla., and Edward M. Geiger of Folly Beach, S.C.; one sister, Ruth G. Wilson of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren, Aimee M. Spires (Kenneth) of Branchville, S.C., Reuben W. Daniels of Laurinburg, N.C., Grant Bagwell (Rebecca) of Old Lyme, Conn., Christopher Smith of Johnson City, Tenn.,, Kim Elliott (Jeff) of Lexington, S.C., and Wayne Walters (Mandy) of Vance, S.C.; four great-grandchildren, Justin Elliott, Alex Elliott, India Rose Bagwell, Mason Bagwell.
