Monday night Don Bugbee's Wildcats stormed into the second round of the CIAC Class S state championship with a resounding 75-32 win over Cheney Tech. Two games in two nights and two wins.  After taking care of business in Old Saybrook 24 hours earlier, the Old Lyme Wildcats traveled down I-95 to Clinton and took care of the Huskies with a handy 48-42 win.  Behind Nick Carlson's 16 points and eight points in a span of eight minutes off the bench by George Logan, Old Lyme defeated Morgan, 48-42, in Shoreline Conference basketball. Read More ...

Despite an unpleasant afternoon Friday with the wind gusting strongly and rain driving fiercely, the Old Lyme girls' soccer team never looked like losing for a moment against Tourtellotte in the Class S state soccer quarter-final.  When the Wildcats put their third goal in the net some 20 minutes through the first half, the cold, wet fans pretty much knew the game was sealed.  The semi-final against St. Bernards will be played at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Montville High School. Read More ...

The Old Lyme girls exited the state tounament Thursday evening after a devastating loss against Portland. In a low-scoring game, the Wildcats were behind throughout the game drawing level only twice, the second time with 30 seconds left on the clock. The Lyme-Old Lyme boy's team advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament with a 3-0 win over Tourtellotte Friday afternoon at Town Woods Park in Old Lyme. The first "Artistry in Motion" event sponsored by the Lyme-Old Lyme Education Foundation was held Saturday.  Comprising a one-mile Fun Run, a 5K walk, and a 5K run, entrants came from a wide variety of locations in the state and spanned the generations.  The weather was almost perfect for the serious runners - just a tad humid - and some impressive results were achieved.  Read More ...
