State Issues Final Approval on HS Project

Residents of Lyme and Old Lyme go the polls today, May 5, to vote on District 18 Board of Education’s proposed budget of $28,678,515 for the 2009-2010 financial year.  This figure represents a 1.7% increase over the present year.  Polling stations are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hamburg Firehouse for Lyme residents and at Cross Lane Firehouse for Old Lyme residents. Wednesday morning the entire student body at Lyme-Old Lyme High School turned out to listen to the build-up to an horrific alcohol-related automobile accident involving four of the school's students and then watch the aftermath as the emergency services responded. LOL Techno-Ticks Win Highest Honor in International Robotics Contest
LymeLine received word late Saturday evening that the Techno-Ticks from Lyme-Old Lyme High School won the FIRST Robotics Championship Chairman's Award at the competition currently being held in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga. Family-a-Fair returned again to Mile Creek School Saturday afternoon after its disappointing cancellation last year.  It was a major success with smiling children, teachers and parents everywhere.  Cheerful volunteers were also much in evidence including 28 seniors from Lyme-Old Lyme High School, whose help, according to the organizers of the event, made the fair possible this year. Read More ...

Major Success for LOLHS Artists
The 20th Annual Regional Scholastic Art Awards competition opened Jan. 25 at the University of Hartford.  No art teacher may submit more than four pieces to the competition each year, and only about half of all submissions are accepted.  Extraordinarily, not only were all eight pieces submitted by Lyme-Old Lyme High School accepted, but each of them was honored. Read More ...
